Cherry Creek Watershed

Glenwood Hotel and Resort, now Seorak Resort, is located in Delaware Water Gap and markets primarily to a Korean population. Rev. Horatio Howell built the Boys Academy here in 1855. It was considered to be one of the best schools in the area but closed in 1862. The town had become a major tourist center by that time, and the school opened as a hotel in 1863, a function that continues to this day. Rev. Howell also directed the building of the Presbyterian church in 1853, named "The Church of the Mountain". A stray bullet killed Rev. Howell July 1, 1863 while working as a Chaplain in a temporary hospital at Gettysburg.
